YTE Yorkshire Doubles 2015

The 2015 Youth Team England Yorkshire Doubles were held at Barnsley Bowl, England, on the weekend of the 31st OCtober and 1st November 2015.  After 8 games in qualifying, bowling on WTBA Tokyo, the finals were bowled on dual-condition WTBA Mexico City and WTBA Stockholm.

After 8 games in qualifying, and two finals steps, the step ladder finals would see James and Brandon defeat Curtis and Mia 455-363, who would then be defeated by Emily and Keira 456-386.

 300 and 726 for Lincoln's Bradley Redfearn in Dorset League

Lincoln youth bowler Bradley Redfearn has collected his first 300-game certificate, on his way to a new personal best three-game score of 726.

Andy Redfearn writes:
"On 30 Sep, Bradley Redfearn received his BTBA 300 Award certificate and pin from Lincoln YBC Instructor and Wednesday Doubles League partner Pete Bromley.  The perfect game was achieved on 21 July 15, bowling as a guest in the Tuesday Winter League at the Poole Bowlplex in Dorset.  Using his Storm Crux Pearl he managed to strike out in the final game after a 222 and 204, making his 726 a PB series as well!"

Sportswoman of the Year by Kettering Borough

Kettering, England: English youth bowler Evie Giddens was recently crowned Kettering Borough Young Sportswoman of the Year for 2015.

"This is a wholly well deserved award for the young aspiring and talented ten-pin bowler from Kettering YBC who over the past few years has consistently improved her JTE Ranking points. Evie was up against six other talented Young Sportswomen for 2015 and the Kettering Borough felt her worthy of the Title due to such a successful year in her sport."

Own Your Own Piece of Bowling History

A Raffle is to be held for your chance to win Dom Barrett’s Weber cup winning bowling shirt signed by the USA and European teams.

Dom kindly donated his shirt and had it signed by both teams to help raise funds for getting 4 boys and 4 girls from the junior England academy to experience a European tournament in the Netherlands in February 2016.

As a runners up prize we have Bill O’Neill’s tournament shirt (unsigned).

Tickets are £5.00 each, available from Rene van Vilsteren at the Junior England Academy (24th October and 22nd November), YTE Barnsley and JTE 3 in Stroud.

The draw will take place on the 22-11-15 at the Junior England Academy.

 


Twin 200-games for twin-hand Louie Dawson

Louie Dawson, bowling for Norwich YBC gained his first sanctioned over-200 games at the 2015 Lincolnshire Open. Louie, who bowls with a self-taught two-handed style scored a game of 205 in the doubles. He then went on to top this with an impressive 222 game in the team event. Louie turned 8 in July.
